Laura Giurge is an Assistant Professor at London School of Economics, and a faculty affiliate at London Business School. She is on a mission to understand how we can achieve our potential without compromising well-being.
Her research program addresses the role of objective time (the passage of time based on the clock) and subjective time (the experience and perception of time) in three main areas: inequality and bias, creativity, and the future of work. Time is invisible until it is lost, meaning that many individuals only start to pay attention to time when they no longer have it. Laura’s aim is to deepen our understanding of the role of time in creating a fairer, more creative, and healthier world.
Her insights have been published in top academic journals and practitioner-oriented outlets. In 2020, her research on subjective time was recognized as a Best Paper at the Academy of Management. As of 2024, Laura is part of the Editorial Review Board at Academy of Management Review. Laura has worked with prominent organizations, including Microsoft, McKinsey, and Novartis.
Laura earned her PhD in Management within 4 years from Erasmus University Rotterdam. She continued her research training as a postdoctoral research fellow at Cornell University and London Business School, and as a visiting scholar at Harvard Business School.
